Monpa Montage

The Monpa are a Buddhist tribe living in Arunachal Pradesh in India’s far North East. It’s an extremely politically sensitive area. India and China fought a war there in 1962 and China still claims it but the residents I spoke with are fiercely pro-India.
I was there at a very politically charged time and was only able to film with a combination of political connections and American chutzpah.
I couldn’t find an audio track that worked for this montage so I made one from Nubian music, Tibetan ┬áceremonial instruments, Monpa traditional singing and hand clapping.
