Tibetan Demonstrators Arrested at Chinese Embassy New Delhi

Two days after arriving in India in 2007 we filmed this illegal demonstration at the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi. It marked the 48th anniversary of the Tibetan Uprising in Lhasa (March 10, 1959).
We were among only eight journalists who were given the time and place of the demonstration as the organizers were trying to keep it a secret from the authorities in hopes of storming the Embassy. However when they arrived the Indian police were there in force.
I thought that the Indian police acted with great restraint…but then I’m from L.A.
Twenty eight monks and lay people were arrested.
